About us
A Cardiff carpenter you deal with directly
Mitch’s Carpentry and Handyman Services is a local carpentry and joinery business working across Cardiff. The person who quotes your job is the person who does it.
How we work
Most people calling a carpenter have had at least one bad experience with a trade before: a quote that moved, a start date that slipped, or a job left three-quarters done. We have built the way we work around not being that.
You get one point of contact from first call to final trim. For anything beyond a small job we come out and measure properly, because a price given down the phone for work nobody has looked at is a guess, and guesses get corrected upwards later. The quote comes back in writing with a realistic number of days on site, and that is the figure you pay unless you ask for something extra along the way.
On site, dust sheets go down, doorways get sealed where we are cutting, and the work area is cleared and swept before we leave each day. Cutting happens outside or in the garage whenever the weather and the site allow. Nothing gets left in the middle of your living room overnight.
Carpentry first, handyman work around it
The core of the business is carpentry and joinery: kitchen fitting, fitted wardrobes, media walls, doors, staircases, flooring, decking and bespoke pieces made to fit. Handyman work — the running list of small jobs most houses accumulate — gets picked up around that, and we will take a whole list in one visit rather than charging a call-out for each item.
What we will not do is take on work we are not the right trade for. If a job needs a structural engineer, a gas-safe engineer or a qualified electrician, we will tell you that up front rather than have a go at it.
On reviews: we would rather show you nothing than show you reviews we made up. If you would like to speak to a recent customer before booking, ask and we will put you in touch with one.
